Round 1 Baraghani connects with a hard jab as Hughes attempts a wide outside hook. Baraghani starts to put on the pressure, forcing Walter back into the cage. Baraghani takes advantage and clinches. Walter receieves numerous knees to the thighs from Hafez. Baraghani keeps Walter off balance and uses a large outer wheel trip to take side control. Hafez lands a few stiff elbows from side control. Walter Hughes takes a few knees to the body while under Hafezs side control. Walter takes a few knees to the body while under Baraghanis side control. Round 1 is over.
Round 2 After dodging a jab-cross, Hafez lands a kick to the liver of Walter who steps back and begins to take a knee. Hafez rushes forward to capitalize but Walter stands back up and is met by a strong cross-uppercut that again backs him up. Hafez Baraghani connects with a hard punch making Hughes bring him in to a tight clinch. The fighters jockey for position in the clinch. Hafez Baraghani hip tosses Hughes over with an underhook, landing into half guard. Hafez hits Walter Hughes with some punches to the side of the head. Walter holds the head of Hafez Baraghani close to avoid shots. Hafez Baraghani slams shots to his opponents ribs and throws hard elbows to the thighs. The ref stops the fight as the round comes to an end.
Round 3 Hughes moves in to press the action, but Hafez lands a heavy back kick. After an exchange of punches, the fighters engage in the clinch. Walter places a few punches to the ribs while tied up. Walter reaches over the shoulder of Hafez Baraghani and sets in a kimura. He rolls it over but has to release the hold, landing in half guard. Hafez Baraghani tries to slip his leg out to get full guard, but is having difficulty. Hafez Baraghani hips out allowing him to take Walter Hughess back. The round comes to an end.
